YOUR HOSTS - JULIE and STEVE

Julie and Steve moved to Macks Creek from Melbourne in 1988, Julie accepting a teaching position at a small rural school and Steve working for the then Department of Conservation. During their early years at Glenwood Farm, it was their dream to convert the old barn on the property into comfortable holiday accommodation. However the barn had seen better days and was demolished to make way for a completely new building, called of course, The Barn.

In 1993 Julie retired from teaching and with Steve pursued their dream of providing a unique bed and breakfast establishment. Although similar in shape to the old barn, the new Barn was designed for the utmost comfort and aesthetic appeal. To integrate with the surrounding countryside, the Barn was clad in corrugated iron, and weatherboards from the old barn were sandblasted and used to line the living room walls, creating a rustic ambience appropriate to the valley.

Guest privacy was a high priority in the new design and was accomplished without compromising views of the beautiful valley setting. Every window frames a different picture. Each spring the swallows that nestled in the old barn return to nest under the eaves, a sure sign of good fortune according to the locals.

YOUR ACCOMMODATION
